Accordian Flower Tutorial with Kreaxions Punches!

Happy Holidays everyone!!
I hope that you all are finding time to get all
of your holiday shopping finished while still saving
a bit of that time for yourselves! I sent Emily off to
school this morning with her poor little arms full of
teacher gifts, bus driver gifts, school office gifts, and
treats for the other children in her classroom for
their holiday party today!! Poor kid, it was cute though!

I spent a little while yesterday creating this layout.
I had fun working with my first Precocious Paper
flowers (Tessa was kind enough to send me an entire
bag full of her gorgeous flowers to play with as her
GDT for Dec. and I will have lots more to show you
in the coming weeks!), I also used my Kreaxions
punches and circle cutter along with Momenta paper
and alphabet stickers.

Step 1.
Use the Kreaxions circle cutter, set it just slightly smaller
than the size you'd like your flower to be, and cut.
TIP: If you want a 4" flower then set your circle cutter
just under 2"

Step 2.
Cut a strip of coordinating paper 12" long. Cut the width
half of the size you want your finished flower, for example,
if you'd like to create a 4" flower then cut the 12" strip 2" wide.
Use the Kreaxions punch of your choice (I used #305) to
punch along one edge of the strip of paper creating a border.

Step 3.
Fold punched strip of paper back and forth like an accordian.
I made my pleats about 1/4" wide, if you like more flat
embellishments you can make your pleats thinner.

Step 4.
Attach the ends of the pleated strip of paper to one another
creating your accordian flower, then adhere to your previously
cut circle base. TIP: I like to sit a slightly heavy object (like my
punch) on top of the accordian flower for a minute or two
just to hold it in place while the adhesive is drying.

Step 5.
Add a decorative center to your accordian flower to give it a
more finished look. You can add embellishments such as:
buttons, bling, twine, ribbon, pearls, brads, flowers, etc.

And here is my finished layout with a couple close-ups...

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and that
you all have a fantastic weekend!!

LOVES :) -Sarah
