Bodey's 2nd Home

After 3 months of sharing our home and our
lives with our gorgeous yellow lab, Bodey, and
making him a member of our family, we
finally thought that he had his anxiety issues
under control enough that we ventured out to
our local park where there are trails wrapping
through the woods around several beautiful
lakes and also the winding White River. We have
known that Bodey would more than likely love it
here, but because of his unkown past and anxiety
around other dogs, we wanted to wait a little while
until we thought that he would be secure enough
with us to be able to enjoy these surroundings.
Bodey at first was definitely over-stimulated with
all of the new smells, sights, and sounds, but once
he caught a glimpse of that glistening water nothing
else was on his mind. In true lab form he trotted
straight into the river, lapped up a bit of water, and
then proceeded to plop down on the river bottom
making himself quite comfortable, as if to say
"I'm home."
It was quite the sight to see him so happy and
relaxed. I think that I enjoyed watching him almost
as much as he enjoyed just being around the water.
Here's some photos that I took while Steve walked
Bodey down along the edge of various parts of the
river and lakes. Sorry the images are not fantastic,
but I was taking pictures again with my phone since
it's not always ideal to carry around my big camera
with three kids and a 90lb. lab.....hope you ENJOY!!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Where COOL Was Born

We all had so much fun this weekend at the
James Dean Festival. I am lucky enough to
live only 30 short minutes from Fairmount, IN
where James Dean was born and raised....
how cool is that?!!
The festival is a blast! There is the largest antique
and vintage car show that I've seen in a long time,
tons of craft vendors (my favorite part), and lots
of yummy fair food, rides, and music. Cute little
Carter could hardly contain himself when he
first caught a glimpse of all those fair rides...he
just kept repeating WOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!
Sooooo cute!! :)
I bought a record that I've been trying to hunt
down and a handmade necklace, Emmy bought
some earrings, both girls got an airbrushed tattoo,
and Becca rode a crazy spinning fair ride....Steve
got dizzy just watching and walked off until it was
over. I think it made him nervous for Becca more
than anything but of course she thought it was no
big deal at all......tough teenager, that one!
Here's a few pics I snapped with my phone along
the way, not the best quality but hey, at least I
preserved the memories, right?

ENJOY!

Have a great Monday!

Welcome Autumn!!

Welcome Autumn!
I'm sooooo happy that you've arrived!

Autumn is my absolute without a doubt
favorite time of year (spring runs second).
October is my birthday month and my bday
always happens to fall on that one weekend of
gorgeousness full of color from the changing fall
leaves just before they all turn brown and fall off
and the weather takes a turn for the worse. There
is just something special about this time of year,
I can smell a change in the air and the slight
coolness in the breeze is a welcome change from
those 90 degree days of summer. The clothes are
better, the ciders are delicious, and fall festivals
are around every bend in the road! I love it all so
much and I just wanted to share a few lovely photos
that I found floating around out there in blogger
world to share the fall beauty and to help you get
in the autumn spirit on this gorgeous first full day
of fall.......ENJOY!!!

Oh, Just The Girls & PineappleScraps Update

Hi all of my lovely friends out there in
blog world!! Today I just wanted to share
with you a few photos from my weekend
fun with my 10 year old daughter, Emily.
It's pretty much a regular Saturday morning
thing for the two of us going to rummages,
thrift shops, or whatever we can find. With
summer coming to and end and rummages
coming to a seasons end along with the summer,
we've been hitting them like mad trying to
stash enough goodies to hold us over through
the winter months which can be quite long
here in Indiana. Here's a few pics of us out on
the hunt at a local Thrift Shop and notice the
cute kitty up in the second story window of
the building....couldn't resist snapping that shot!

Also, I have some sewing projects planned for
these vintage finds that will eventually end up in
my Etsy Shop 'PineappleScraps' so I'll keep you
updated about all of that fun stuff!!

Have a terrific Tuesday,

Oliver Cards

Oh my goodness, Oliver from Basic Grey
was tons of fun to work with!! The colors are
so rich and the patterns are fantastic! I made
this set of cards using just the 6x6 pad and
I still have about half the stack left over.

Well, my first born turns 14 this weekend.....
WOW, how in the world do I have a 14 year old?!!
She's shopping right this second at the mall with
her friends and filling her bags full of clothes and
jewelry and perfume thanks to birthday money
from the grandparents....Happy Birthday, Becca!

Oh, and I just took her for her yearly check-up today
and the crazy kid is 5'10"...how insane is that?!!
I'm 5'9" and never in a million years thought that my
daughter would be taller than me before she even
turned 14 years old, she actually passed me up at
the end of last school year!! She's such a beauty
and I just love her to death, she's witty and funny
and a total free spirit that just wants to have fun!
I hope that she has a wonderful 14th birthday!!

Have a fantastic weekend!!
